A radio station is broadcasting "A Christmas Carol" live, before a studio audience. The Adobe audience will watch the actors, scripts in hand, create characters (sometimes more than one character), music and sound effects live onstage and see how the director puts everything together. In addition, they will have the opportunity for audience participation in the creation of music and sound effects themselves. This delightful retelling of the beloved holiday classic of a man transformed from greed to loving connection embraces the true holiday spirit and will be suitable and enjoyable for all ages. In the past, the Adobe was renowned for its December radio shows, and we hope fans of the genre will be pleased to see this new radio classic.

Einstein: A Stage Portrait in Broadway EINSTEIN: A STAGE PORTRAIT
MTS Black Box Theatre
12/7-12/16/2012
The year is 1946, the Bomb has been dropped, the world has forever changed and Albert Einstein has invited the audience over to his home to set the record straight about his life. Join Dr. Einstein for an evening of humor, introspection, science and a little violin. Find out why his theories are being proven correct to this day. You'll walk away with an understanding of the man who solved many of the world's most difficult puzzles with astounding creativity and a delicious sense of humor. In this award-winning, one-man show (Dramalogue, Best Playwright) playwright Willard Simms brings to life a brilliant, dedicated and sometimes controversial theoretical physicist who TIME magazine called their Person of the Century. Einstein was "a much too famous man whose reputation grew so out of proportion". He was a reluctant celebrity who set the science world on its collective ear at the astonishing age of twenty six with his Special Theory of Relativity. His passion was deciphering nature's puzzle and spent his entire life "trying to fit the pieces together". Yet, he didn't begin speaking until the age of three and was considered to be a slow learner by his teachers. He abhorred all forms of authority which made his school years difficult and finding work as an adult even harder. Despite all that, not a day passes when we fail hear some reference to Albert Einstein.

Kris Kringle takes on the cynics among us in this musical adaptation of the popular holiday favorite. In his inimitable style, Meredith Willson (THE MUSIC MAN, THE UNSINKABLE Molly Brown), tells us the classic story of the year. A white-bearded gentleman claiming to be the real Santa Claus brings about a genuine MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET, spreading a wave of love throughout New York City, fostering camaraderie between Macy's and Gimbel's Department Stores, and convincing a divorced, cynical single mother, her somber daughter and the entire state of New York that Santa Claus is no myth.Filled with humor, spectacle (the opening scene takes place at none other than Macy's famous Thanksgiving Parade) and such beloved songs as "Pinecones and Hollyberries,"? "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas"? and "My State, My Kansas,"? this joyous, heart-warming musical is pure family entertainment, wholesome without being cloying. LOVE WITH A TWIST
SouthWest Rural Theatre Project
11/29-12/22/2012
Short stories by O. Henry have never been so charmingly and hilariously staged. The Gift of the Magi, The Last Leaf, The Love Philtre of Ikey Schoenstein, and The Marry Month of May are interlinked into a series of overlapping tales. Each is introduced with a mini overture of seasonal music. The finale, with all characters filling you in on what happened to them after their tales ended, is worth the price of admission. The characters are unforgettable, the dialogue is sparkling with wit, and the songs are sensational.

Southwest Rural Theatre Project

This Christmas Eve he will bring Mary, his favorite earthly consort, and Luke and Freya, their illegitimate, semi-divine children, back to his North Pole compound to live with him--forever! Not surprisingly, Mrs. Claus resists. First she withholds Santa's beloved Divinity. Then she tries to poison Mary and the children with some delicious candy-wine. And as the singing elf-slaves Jo-Jo and Jim-Jim, and Mary's drunkard husband, George, are drawn into the marital melee, all Hell--quite literally--breaks loose.
